Via Rideshare Program Expanding Service Area in Arlington

With new tech start-ups, a worldwide push for convenience, and for growing concerns like
helping the environment, more and more forms of public transportation are becoming just as popular as they are necessary.

In our own Arlington, one of the fastest-growing and most accessible options has become the Via Ridesharing Service.

Via rides are quick, on-demand and inexpensive at only $3 a pop (per person, per trip). And, as of June 3 rd , they will now take you to more parts of the city than ever before!

The original pilot service area became quickly popular, hitting important spots like the
Entertainment District and the University of Texas at Arlington and downtown. Now, the service will provide transportation to and from a section of the city near Division Street and Arkansas Lane, east of Highway 360.

Via New Service Area

With service hours from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, Via rides are available through the apps for Android and iOS as well as by phone (just call 817-748-7382).

At $3 a ride and with on-demand, algorithm-optimized, smart-route-based ride sharing, it’s no wonder how Via has made such an impact on public transportation in Arlington. Residents and City officials alike feel encouraged to see the program grow.

Almost 200,000 rides have been taken since the service piloted in the city in late 2017. Arlington became one of the first cities in the United States to welcome ridesharing as an innovative solution, optimizing and bettering public transportation. Hundreds of other metros around the country will continue to follow suit as the system improves and gains popularity.

Take a Via ride today to become a part of the momentum.
