Arlington Residents Can Dispose of Household Items for Free at Local Landfill Three Times a Year

Arlington residents looking to declutter their homes have a great opportunity to do so without the usual disposal costs. The Arlington landfill is offering homeowners up to three free visits per year to drop off bulky household items such as old carpet, appliances, tree limbs, tires, and fence panels. For any additional visits beyond the three free disposals, a discounted rate applies, helping residents manage waste affordably.

How It Works:

To take advantage of this offer, Arlington Water Utilities account holders, or authorized users on the account, must present a valid Texas driver’s license or Texas ID at the landfill’s scale house upon arrival. The provided ID must match the name and address on the Arlington Water Utilities account for the residence. This ensures that only Arlington homeowners benefit from the offer, which is non-transferable.

Homeowners wishing to update or manage the authorized users on their accounts should contact the City’s Action Center at 817-459-6777. Authorized users must reside at the same address listed on the utility account, and residents can also add or remove authorized users via the City’s online platform.

No Coupons Required:

Since 2020, Arlington residents have not needed to print landfill coupons for redemption at the Arlington landfill. This change makes the disposal process more convenient and paperless, aligning with modern waste management practices.

Landfill Details and Fees:

It’s important to note that contractors, landlords, owners of multiple properties, and apartment complex tenants do not qualify for this benefit and will be charged the regular landfill fees. The Arlington landfill, located at 800 Mosier Valley Road, operates Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents with questions can contact the landfill directly at 817-354-2305.

Hazardous Waste Disposal:

Residents are reminded that hazardous household materials such as paint, motor oil, and pesticides cannot be disposed of at the landfill or placed curbside for regular trash collection. Instead, these items can be dropped off free of charge at the City of Fort Worth’s Environmental Collection Center, located at 6400 Bridge Street. The Center is open Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For additional details, residents can visit the Hazardous Household Waste: Environmental Collection Center webpage.

Arlington’s commitment to offering free and discounted waste disposal helps keep the community clean and supports environmentally responsible habits for its residents.
