Arlington Streets Transformed: Road Closures Intensify for Inaugural Java House Grand Prix

ARLINGTON, Texas — The roar of IndyCar engines is just days away as the City of Arlington prepares to host the inaugural Java House Grand Prix. Crews are currently finalizing a 2.73-mile temporary street circuit that winds through the heart of the Entertainment District, capable of seeing speeds exceed 180 mph.

Race Weekend Schedule

The event spans three days of high-octane action and entertainment:

  • Friday, March 13: Practice sessions and a headline concert by All Time Low.
  • Saturday, March 14: Qualifying rounds and legendary athlete appearances, including Rangers icon Pudge Rodríguez and Cowboys great Charles Haley.
  • Sunday, March 15: The main event. The green flag drops at 12:07 p.m., followed by a post-race concert featuring T-Pain.

Critical Traffic & Road Closure Alert

Beginning at 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, North Collins Street near Randol Mill Road will close for final track construction. By Friday morning, the entire circuit will be fully secured and inaccessible to public vehicles.

Arlington Police Navigation Tip: To avoid the heavy blockades at Randol Mill, police recommend drivers coming from the south utilize Highway 360 and enter via Division Street. If you are heading to lots north of the stadiums, use the Six Flags Drive access points rather than attempting to cut through the core of the Entertainment District.
